Dry Ice Blasting after a fire
This fire was an electrical fire in an old building during the process of a remodel. The fire started in the main level and continued up into the second level of the structure. SERVPRO of Madison, Lawrenceburg and Versailles was called to help pack out the contents and clean the smoke and soot from the structure. In the photos are support I-beams that were metal. SERVPRO technicians used a process called dry ice blasting to remove the sticky soot residue from the beams. Soot is smelly so if we were to just cover up the beams with new drywall the smell would remain for years. Being able to save large beams like this is definitely a time and money saver.
